Every big dream has a beginning, and ours took the stage on September 24, 2022, at the Essence Event Venue in Atlanta. That night, our community gathered for the very first Ready Set Dream Big Scholarship Gala, and a vision we had carried for years finally came to life.
The room was filled with people who believe, like we do, that a community should never decide a child's future. Our keynote speaker, Keyla Richardson, a gospel recording artist and Sunday's Best finalist, set the tone with a message of purpose and possibility, joined by an inspiring lineup of guest speakers: Brittany Flippen, Dr. Ida Jones Gibson, Donna M. High-Brown, and Barbara Robinson.
We were also proud to share the evening with our very first VIP vendors and partners, who showed up for our students from day one: Bella Coco, NFUSD, Treats by Tasha, IndiArtz Creations, The Josh Effect, TeamATAP Leadership Development, and Dove Counseling Center.
To protect our students' privacy, we keep our scholarship recipients private, but we will never forget the futures we were able to support that night. It was the first of many, and it set the standard for everything that came after. Thank you to everyone who helped us begin.
